Carousel will not rotate

Just got this unit, and started to load CDs. Got about 20 done, and the last one did not bring up a "check in" window. I then got a message that the carousel can not rotate. Do I have a lemon here from the outset? What do I do now???

I've got 4 Century CD units, and experience this message frequently, sometimes by jiggling the stack, I can get them to rotate, but almost every time I open the program, this message appears.
Somehow, the system works despite getting the error message.

Hello Brian,

Greetings from Digistore Solutions.

The error message occurs in two possibilities - your Centurion CD carousel is unable to turn or when the organizer unit isn't detected by your default system.

You may want to ensure that the connectivity by going under the View - Connected Organizers..., you must be able to see the serial number of all connected/stack units. If all units were detected, the next thing to check will be any obstruction that may prevent the carousel from turning. Kindly turn off the power to the Centurion CD unit and look into the mailslot, observe to see if the "ejecting pin" was erected and got caught within the carousel slot. If yes, using a thin ruler gently push the ejecting pin back to it resting position.

Feel free to contact us should you require further assistance.

Best regards,
Ivan

Not sure I'm a "friend" of Centurion right now. It does seem to rotate most of the time, but after it checks in a disk, it does not allow another disk which has been scanned to be put into the slot. Something seems jammed. I have to start the "eject" empty spaces routine, and then cancel it, in order for a new disk to slide in. IN addition, two disks went in without being checked in, and I can't find them. They were listed as checked out. I eliminated them from the library, so they should have been ejected, but they have not been. Not happy with this unit AT ALL. Support has not really gotten to me with answers.

Hello Leslie,

Greetings from Digistore Solutions.

I am sure there might have been some misunderstanding in how the Centurion CD should have been operated.

Base on your feedbacks - it does not allow another disc to be put into the slot, the possible cause might have been that the slot had already been occupied with a physical disc. This assumption goes on par with your claims that two discs had earlier went in without being detected by the MediaTRACKER application.

All of the above encounter were make possible - when the insertion of the physical disc is done prematurely. You are require to wait for the ejecting hammer to strike prior to the insertion of the physical disc. This requirement must be observe, as the sensors located at the mailslot will only be active after when the slot is check clear by the ejecting hammer strike.

In the meantime, our support engineer is still waiting your advice on some information to further determine what may be the cause to your encounter. Rests assure our engineers will be able to assist you in resolving your encounter.

Best regards,

Ivan
