If you have a disc jammed, here is some help

Shortly after getting my DiscHub, I was loading DVDs and the power cord fell out (those things don't fit very well). Needless to say, I wound up with a jam that kept the carousel from rotating. I contacted Technical Support, dreading the thought of returning a new unit, but was pleasantly surprised with the cooperation and help I received. I would now like to return the favor.

I took pictures of the process and put them all in a PDF with brief instructions. If you find yourself in the same situation, I hope this short guide will help you out.

Regards,

Chris

Hello Victor,
Thank you for your kind comments as well as the wonderful gift. It was my pleasure to create it for the customers of DSS as well as the company and I will do so again should it be needed. Your comments about the warranty are duly noted. I will make corrections and upload the changed document.

I am completely satisfied with the general operation and function of the DH, so much so I purchased another one. However as others have pointed out it is rather noisy but then again so is every mechanical device to some degree. I do believe that most customers purchase based on function rather than aesthetics.

The only annoying problem I see is the DC power cord. It may be different in other countries but the US version uses a molded Molex style connector, and it does not fit tightly. My original problem was caused by this connector coming loose during DiscHub operation. I have since corrected this problem by utilizing a better fitting standard 4 pin power connector commonly used in PC peripherals. I hope this problem was addressed in the latest shipping product.

There are two things I would ask from you if possible.
1. posting of some sort of operations manual online for users to download. The only thing available seems to be the short setup guide. The CD applies primarily to the MediaTracker software and nothing about the hardware itself.
2. the availability of a service/repair manual for Small Business technicians and engineers like myself.

Again, thank you for the gift.

Best Regards,

Chris Koeb

hi Chris,
Found your guide very "explicit" and clear when having to use it for the same problem.
Only difference I noted is that I needed an 8 mm Socket, maybe a manufacturing change.
Thanks for expending all that time.
Well done

Hello Chris

Greetings from Digistore Solutions.

Thank you for your valuable feedback on the power connector.  Meanwhile, I have requested our hardware designer to consider suitable alternatives.

Moreover, I will also request our Technical Services Department to consider producing a service/repair manual for those valuable customers whom are more technically inclined.

Thank you and best regards.

Cheers
