I just thought that Digistore solutions should know about my experiences with your Centurions disc hubs:
In February, I bought 2 dsic hub units from a supplier in Melbourne Australia where I live.
Is it possible to use the DiscHub on 2 computers? I have attached it to my laptop but realised that no one will be able to access the DVD's if I am away with my laptop. I now realise that I should have attached it to my desktop...Can I remove it from my laptop (full) and attach it to the desktop without having to remove and reinstall all the DVD's?
My company needs an archive management system for about 400 to 500 discs. We are considering the DiscHub as an option.
We have written an executable which can successfully use the MediaTracker API. However when it is run as a service we cannot successfully call CoCreateInstance() (we get an HRESULT of 0x80080005). The event viewer contains the following:
"The server {4DBF00CA-40E4-420F-A4E1-C02218E0F4BD} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout."
Shortly after getting my DiscHub, I was loading DVDs and the power cord fell out (those things don't fit very well). Needless to say, I wound up with a jam that kept the carousel from rotating. I contacted Technical Support, dreading the thought of returning a new unit, but was pleasantly surprised with the cooperation and help I received. I would now like to return the favor.
I'm looking to develop a command-line interface for a Linux system to do automated backups on the DiscHub (basically, burn an ISO and advance to the next disc).
I have used this product successfully as a standalone duplicator, which it does as advertised. I have calculated the following times for the various processes that the dischub does.
Approximately 1 hour to load 100 discs into the unit and about 12 minutes to unload 100 discs after completion.
Wonderful product! I'm actually hoping to be able to do something opposite of most people I've seen discussing the DiscHub. Rather than trying to store something on it, in the short term I have a library of about 500 data CDs and DVDs (not audio or video) from over the last 13 years that I want to get moved over to a 2tb hard drive.
Hi,
Will the Centurion DiscHub burn CD/DVD's in ISO bootable format from a file on a connected PC?
Thanks,
Craig
Hello
I'm interesting to your product Centurion DiscHub in OEM because we don't need make data backup with Centurion.
I need Centurion DiscHub for DVD/CD reader for automatic encoding (load a CD/DVD, read it, unload, load next one, and so on ...).
Have you a linux driver able to load / unload disc, move forward, and all other operations on the carousel ?
